Keel

Privacy

Last updated 2 September 2026 · Keel is in a closed, invite-only pilot.

Keel is a personal chief of staff. It reads the email, calendar and notes you explicitly connect, keeps a standing brief of what matters, and proposes actions. It never sends an email, creates a calendar event, or changes anything outside Keel without your explicit approval of that specific action.

What Keel reads

You can exclude people, addresses or topics before anything is stored (Settings → Boundaries). Excluded content is dropped before ingestion and is never stored, indexed or summarised.

Where it is kept

Your data is stored in your own database and storage prefix, in the European Union (AWS, Frankfurt), encrypted at rest and in transit. Each person's data is isolated: nothing from one account can inform, touch, or be reached from another.

AI processing

To build briefs and answer questions, Keel sends the relevant excerpts of your content to Anthropic (Claude models) and Voyage AI (embeddings) under API terms that do not permit training on your data. Instructions found inside your documents are treated as data, never as commands.

Who can see it

Only you, through your own signed-in session. Operators of the pilot can see account status, counts, timestamps and error codes — never message bodies, subjects or note content.

Retention and deletion

You choose the history window Keel keeps (3, 6, 12 or 24 months). You can export everything as JSON at any time (Settings → Account & privacy), disconnect any source instantly, or delete your account: it is suspended immediately and permanently purged after a 30-day grace period.

Cookies and tracking

Keel uses a single session cookie to keep you signed in. There is no advertising, no third-party analytics, and no tracking across sites.
